    The mapmaker Moithy died in 1805 and the publisher, Jean, is re-purposing an earlier map, ‘Carte générale de l'empire de Russie comprise en Europe’, which was published in 1788.

    Condition & Materials 

    Engraved folding map, sheet size 89 x 66 cm, engraved by Vallet, original hand colour, two sheets joined then dissected into nine panels and laid on linen, folding into mottled paper boards, somewhat rubbed and worn.
