Liddell’s Two-Sheet Map of Jamaica
Date of publication:
68 x 166 cm total sheet size
Map of Jamaica prepared from the best authorities by order of his Excellency Sir Henry Wylie Norman […]
This map of Jamaica was prepared in the Public Works Department, by Colin Liddell, Acting Government Surveyor, 26th January, 1888; it was revised July, 1905 (also by Liddell, who by this time was Surveyor-General) and this edition has corrections to 1922.
This edition appears to be scarce. Worldcat locates just two examples, both of which are described as photocopies: OCLC: 986799964 (the UCLA copy, described as a photocopy in two sheets) and OCLC: 497791341 (the British Library copy, described as an enlarged photocopy, 84 x 104 cm – which does not correspond with our printed example – and with manuscript addition of parish boundaries, which are printed on our map.
