Full Description

Quad royal station map, 102 x 127 cm, inset of ‘City area on an enlarged scale’ to upper right corner, printed in colours, minor marginal creasing, blank verso.

Revised and updated from Philips’ pre-war map showing the operating area of the London Passenger Transport Board, evidently intended for station display. In the 1930s the lines of the big four railway companies were colour coded, but here the main distinction is between British Railways (red) and London Transport (black). The map emphasises the distinction between the new Metropolitan Green Belt and the built up area.
