Contemporary gilt-ruled calf, all edges gilt. William Coxe (1747-1828) compiled a number of historical works, notably on Marlborough as well as this work on the younger brother of the Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole; he also wrote accounts of his travels, particularly those in Russia and Scandinavia.
