12 panel passenger map, September 1916 issue, 30 x 45.3 cm, printed in three colours (black, red and green), text on verso.
The London General Omnibus Company was by this point owned by the Underground Group and this is an early attempt at transport integration, with the text on the verso advertising through-travel (tickets valid on both Underground and bus routes).
Buses and LGOC employees had volunteered or had been conscripted for wartime service, and although many women had been recruited to work on the buses the frequency and number of routes had been reduced. So had the number of maps, with just two issues per year.
