This map of London is derived from the 1836 map published by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, with elevations of prominent public buildings at the foot. It was published in the year of the Great Exhibition, and the Crystal Palace is shown in its original location in Hyde Park.
Condition & Materials
Two steel-engraved sheets, joined, overall sheet size 44 x 70.5 cm, black and white, trivial spotting, blank verso; published in Meyer’s ‘Grosser Zeitung-Atlas’, or ‘Hand-Atlas’.
