Full Description

Folding plan of Accra, 102.5 x 70 cm, black and white, dissected into 42 panels and laid on linen as issued, printed cover pasted to verso.

The scale 1:5000 feet, permits detailed identification of buildings and the ‘numbering of bungalows’ referred to in the title. Insets show the military cantonments and Kawli Bu (Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, established in 1923). The building of the hospital was part of a wider programme of development undertaken by Sir Frederick Gordon Guggisberg, the energetic and enlightened Governor General of the Gold Coast in the 1920s.
