This map of the London underground was printed in 1500 examples in March 1929. Fred Stingemore (1890-1954) was also responsible for the series of card folder maps which were given to passengers between 1925 and 1932. For these passenger maps he stripped away the surface topography, and the lines were slightly distorted to fit the available space (including some expansion of the central area). Stingemore’s posters, however, which were produced for display in stations, retained the principal parks, roads and other features at ground level, and they were more geographically precise. This edition highlights the interchange between the Underground and the Great Western Railway at Paddington.
