Three panel passenger map of the London underground, 15 x 22.5 cm, issue 1 of 1939, printed in colours. Hans Schleger (1898-1976) was a successful commercial artist and modernist graphic designer, responsible for updating the official system map between late 1938 and early 1941, when Beck returned to the role. You might recognise his ‘Grow Your Own’ posters from the wartime ‘Dig for Victory’ campaign.
