    Condition & Materials

Folio. pp. [xlviii], 731, [xxv] + 5 woodcut folding plates (Babylon, the tower of Babel, the citadel and the gardens of Semiramis – i.e. the legendary hanging gardens of Babylon – and the bridge of Babylon). Title printed in red and black, a trifle dusty; occasional spots and stains, and old marginal annotations in ink. Later mottled English calf, circa 1800, somewhat worn, rebacked preserving original spine. Ownership signature of William Percy on title.
