    Folding city plan, 27 x 49.5 cm, printed in two colours, blank verso; with 12pp German-language guide, folding into buff card wraps illustrated with an image of the Eiffel Tower on the front cover (and the Arc de Triomphe on the back) and the legend ‘Paris 1940’.

    This map of Paris was printed locally by the German military governor for German servicemen on leave in the occupied city, both map and guide focus on typical tourist sights. No features connected with the occupation are marked (such as police headquarters or military hospitals) and there is no résumé of rules and regulations, for example concerning fraternisation. German soldiers in Paris were encouraged to savour victory through a spot of sightseeing.
