Railway Clearing House Map of Ireland
Date of publication:
114.5 x 76 cm sheet size
The Railway Clearing House allocated revenue on occasions where one company’s train ran over another’s track, and promoted standardisation (of everything, from time to rolling stock) across the network. From the 1870s it produced a superb series of railway maps such as this one of Ireland, which were made for internal use rather than distribution to passengers.
