Lithographed town plan of York, map 29 x 23 cm [sheet size 38.5 x 27 cm], printed in colours, blank verso. Published in Rowntree’s research on degrees of wealth and poverty in York, ‘Poverty, a Study of Town Life’, which was inspired by Booth’s work in London. This map shows the concentration of pubs in some of the oldest – and poorest – districts in the city centre.
