This birds-eye plan of Cambridge printed for the recently nationalised British Railways (presumably the Eastern Region).
Hinc lucem et pocula sacra
The colleges and university buildings given prominence through definition and colour. The arms of the University and town appear top left; the colleges are un-named but marked with their crests, which are repeated and identified in the lower border.
About the Artist
Fred Taylor (1875-1963) was an active commercial artist from the late Edwardian era onward. He designed posters for London Transport, railway and shipping companies and the Empire Marketing Board.
