Originally published in the series ‘Twenty-Four Views in Hindostan’, a part-work issued 1802-1805 to illustrate Francis Blagdon’s ‘Brief History of Ancient and Modern India’; the plates appeared in a slightly different order when the book was made available as a complete volume.
