    The play’s the thing

    Euripides’ play recounts events following Orestes’ murder of his mother, Clytemnestra, in revenge for her murder of his father, Agamemnon. The text follows Joshua Barnes’ excellent Cambridge edition, first printed in 1694.

    8vo. pp. [ii], 159, [i]. Text in Greek with Latin translation following. Light toning to text. Contemporary calf, somewhat rubbed and worn, joints renewed. Old ownership signature to free endpaper partially erased.
