Walter White (1811-1893) trained as a cabinet maker in his father’s business, but for forty years served as a librarian at the Royal Society. He wrote a number of books based around his walking holidays, including expeditions to Mont Blanc, eastern Germany and Bohemia.
Condition & Materials
First edition, 8vo. pp. viii, 316. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards, a little wear, headcap and part of the lettering pice on the spine neatly renewed. Inscription dated 1969 in red ink to verso of title-page.
