This map is coloured to show the manufacturing towns, districts, and collieries to which the GCR had access. It also shows proven and concealed coalfields, with an inset section through ‘concealed coal measures’ running east from Barnesly and Doncaster to Market Rasen (the Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire coalfield).
